Posting a Project so Expert Freelancers Bid

man_laptopHow to Post a Project so that Freelancers who Bid for your Work are the most Expert & Professional and give you Quality Proposals!

You will find detailed information on posting projects in the Guidelines section, however, here is a summary of the key points to follow:-

Only buyers can post projects; click to get to the specialist sector site you want, e.g. Information Technology, Web & Programming Services; register as a buyer first and log in, then click Projects > Open New Project. Note that to post a project is FREE! Smile

Accurate and clear descriptions and specifications will help you receive the best quality proposals and bids from freelancers and ensure that there are no problems and misunderstandings later. There is external help available on this topic, for example, for it projects, at www.ehow.com. Probably an overkill for now!

Anyway, categorise your projects accurately and in no more than five project skill categories.

Make the Title easily searchable and meaningful to the freelancer audience, but unique.

Select "Featured" so that your projects will be highlighted on the freelancer marketplace website’s front page, thereby gaining more attention and hence more bids from freelancers.

Set the Start Date of the listing. This is the date when it will open for freelancer bids and the default is today's date. You may set up draft projects by selecting a future Start Date. You may then add to it and refine it over a period of time before allowing it to be visible to the freelancer for a bid.

Set the Duration; how long you want the project listing to last and be open for freelancer bids.

Realistically set the Minimum and Maximum Budgets.

Set the Location if the geographical location of the work or freelancer is important. Otherwise set it to "Anywhere". There is further information available about outsourcing in these articles at Business Link.

In the description box summarise your project and there should be, at a minimum, a clear and concise description of the requirement and its Milestones, Deliverables, specific skills required, and any external references (e.g. similar to the www.xyz.com web site) so it cannot be misunderstood by the freelancer.

The attachment you may upload might be the detailed work description file to be uploaded so a freelancer can download it to study in detail. Note that you may only upload one file per project, so all the information should be available in the one file.

In the Project Type selection you can make projects:
"Public": visible to any visitor of the site;
"Non-Public": only visible to logged-in registered users; or
"Private": just for a specified freelancer or specified freelancers to bid on.

When you’ve completed the form, check it over first, then click the “Save Project” Button and release it to be open for the freelancers to bid, if the Starting Date is today.

Note that ALL Special Freelancers will be emailed with a summary of your project and a link to the project page on this site.

Once the service buyer and freelancer relationship starts there are other considerations, as set out in the article Rules for Successful Client Freelancer Working Relationships

This process of posting projects is very easy and only takes minutes. Post a project and start outsourcing your work to freelancers now!
